INTRODUCTION

Lady Margaret Elite School is a primary school in Masaka City. THe school is registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports with EMIS Number - 220856. Lady Margaret is a privately run catholic school that accomodates learners from a diversity of religious affiliations. Our school was founded by Ugandans in the Diaspora, headed by Mrs. Margaret Ssemanda in the USA. Her vision was to create and establish a special school environment that would introduce and prepare a child to the challenges of the 21st century. The program of one laptop per child was envisioned as a beginning to the early education.
The school was founded in 2013 by Mrs. Margaret N. Ssemanda and Mr. John M. Ssemanda who felt an obligation of establishing a school that produces a holistic individual, upright in academics and talent development. At establishment, the founders had a perfect vision of a school where learners were exposed to a large volume of knowledge, provision of modern tools for knowledge acquisition. This led them to the approach of putting in place a system where each learner had their own laptop in order to fulfill their primary objective, besides enhancing the teaching-learning process. It was a totally new approach and was a perfect pursuit of solutions for problems of the 21st Century.
Besides, the school was established with two main objectives and over the years, these have been achieved beyond doubt. Purposely, the school was centered on achieving academic excellence and talent development among learners from an early age. We are dedicated to providing children with the tools to achieve academic excellence and strong character. We recognize and use our God-given gifts to demonstrate commitment to passing on both wisdom and faith while equipping our students to be active citizens of the 21st century.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

While fostering IT, we stress that Lady Margaret must also offer experiences within an educational environment that enable students to embrace Christian values and to reach out in a spirit of service to others. Furthermore, we stress common sense. Cleanliness and orderliness are a must. No littering on the school ground or any other place. We believe that a good school must develop and maintain positive relationships among students, teachers, and parents.
The position of teacher in a good school demands constant efforts to interact positively with students, parents, and colleagues. Recognizing that parents are the primary educators of the child, teachers seek parental cooperation and support. Students are expected to respect the authority of the school and be accountable for their actions, yet must also be given respect through methods of positive discipline and shared responsibility for school-wide success.

CURRICULUM
We believe in educating each as a whole person, this means we believe that our entire curriculum must work towards forming men and women who are capable of using all of the gifts God has given them.
